Fall Blog Give Away

Fall Give Away Prize Purchased from Secondary Creations

Our give away prize was purchased from Trudy of http://www.etsy.com/shop/secondarycreations. A little about Trudy's shop I try to craft "rosaries with personality" so that you can find one (or more!) that expresses your personality or that of the individual you're buying it for. I'm open to custom orders, so if you have an idea for something you don't see here, let me know and I'll see what I can do with it. This comes right from Trudy's shop annoucement!

The prize for our give away is a Franciscan Crown here is the description right from Secondary Creation shop! The Ave beads are melon-shaped faceted lucite beads that, in my opinion, could easily be mistaken for glass. The Pater beads are goldtone leaves, probably with a plastic base. Blue and clear seed beads are also used to accent the blue-violet color of the beads.

The center and crucifix are both of lead-free pewter and were made in Italy. The center has an image of St. Francis on one side and the Tau cross as he used it for his signature on the other. The crucifix is the San Damiano cross. On the reverse of the cross is the blessing from Numbers, which Francis also used:

The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord show his face to you and have mercy on you.
The Lord turn His countenance to you and give you peace.

The measurement from the bottom of the cross to the middle of the rosary is slightly more than 23 inches.

Here is a little bit about Franciscan Crowns from Trudy's shop. The Francican Crown Rosary commemorates the seven joys of the Blessed Virgin Mary. There are instructions for praying it on the shop policies page and a pamphlet will also be sent with the rosary. Most things Franciscan are brown or some other earthy color, but I don't know of any rule that they can't be downright pretty.

Franciscan Crowns in Secondary Creations shop run around $21.00-$37.50, so please don't miss out on a chance to win. The contest will run for the months of September-November. Our Contest will end on Wednesday, November 10 at 12:00 midnight. Hurry! Don't delay.
Open to Us and International Residents

  1. Wow! So many ways to enter! That should keep things interesting. For anyone who wonders what they'd do with a Franciscan Crown if they had one, there will be a pamphlet on it enclosed with the giveaway rosary just as there would be with one purchased directly from my shop.

  4. It will have to be the Autumn Harvest Rosary, http://www.etsy.com/listing/56102539/autumn-harvest-rosary-with-pumpkins-and. It is reflective of the season, but not blatantly so. Its soft hues of Fall are soothing and the use of pumpkins are an excellent use of material and proportion. An amazing piece to see. I'd love to feel the textures of each bead in my own hands.

  5. My favorite rosary Trudy has done would have to be the church mice I wish I could have purchased this very special rosary but I was not able someone else got it before I did. Reminds for some reason of a children's christmas program with mice. Here is the shop item it has been sold http://www.etsy.com/transaction/25492017. Trudy makes one of the kinda rosaries that have a special flare...
