June Birthstone Rosary in Alexandrite Glass Beads
Alexandrite is one of the birthstones listed for June (pearls get mentioned sometimes, too). The "Hail Mary" beads of this five-decade Catholic rosary are 8mm faceted rounds of fire-polished Czech glass in "alexandrite" with an aurora borealis effect. The "Our Father" beads are foiled lampwork beads in a light blue that harmonizes beautifully with the alexandrite color; they're "pillows" about 16mm square. Silver-plated spacers and clear seed beads with an aurora borealis coating are also used.
The center is two sided, with a full-color picture of the Annunciation on one side and Mary's Coronation on the other. It has silver-tone trim. The crucifix is silver tone and is in a traditional, ornate style.
